Scrotum Itchiness 阴囊瘙痒
Over the years, we have many male patients who complained of scrotum itchiness. Many of them told us that their scrotums are itchy for some months or some years and they did not know what causes it.
Normally,
from the external look of the scrotum, they have no rashes. They said that if they scratch them, they can
be slightly reddish. Most of them said
that the scrotums are itchy particularly at night.
A man at
the age of 35, came to consult us some years ago. He said that he had itchiness of his scrotum for
the past 6 years and the problem did not go away. He has consulted western doctor and was
prescribed steroid cream, but it did not help him. He still feel itchy. He said that every night his scrotum was
itchy and he would scratch them. The
scrotum would become slightly reddish.
He said he was frustrated because he could not sleep well at night. Very
often in the middle of the night he was waken up by his sleep due to itchiness
and he had to take a shower to ease his itchiness. After that he still could
not sleep well.
He came to
see us, TCM feels that this is due to “湿热下注, 蕴湿于下焦“，so we prescribed TCM medicine for
him. Initially, he was not confident
that he could get well because he had consulted many TCM physicians before and
could not get well.
After a
second visit, he said that got better by 40%.
After the 6th visit, he said he almost recovered by 90% and
he could sleep through the night.
