A lot of people think that knee pain only happens to elderly folks, but in our clinic we see many young people coming to see us for knee pain. They sometimes said that they twisted their knee when they do certain exercise or playing football.
Case 1: Aircraft Cabin Cleaner
A 55-year-old female patient came to see our physician on duty last year. Her right knee was swollen. She told us that she worked as an aircraft cabin cleaner and had to climb staircases to the aircraft cabin at least 20 times a day. As a result, her right knee became swollen, and she could not turn up for work because she was unable to climb the stairs.
She sought acupuncture treatment from us. I treated her with acupuncture, herbal plasters, and Chinese herbal medicine. She came almost every day because she wanted to recover quickly and return to work as soon as possible. After eight treatments, she had fully recovered.
A 55-year-old female patient came to see our physician on duty last year. Her right knee was swollen. Case 2: Football Injury
A Malay man had knee pain after a fall while playing football. Initially, he was quite scared of needles, but he wanted to get well, so he allowed us to perform acupuncture on him. In addition to acupuncture, we also applied herbal plasters. He came every day, and gradually his right knee became less swollen. After about four days, the swelling had gone down completely.
