I think he is a miracle man, a person with 5 types of cancer and still survive well, I asked about his secret. He told me that his philosophy of life is to laugh often and joke a lot. He believes that when a person is happy, the meridian in his body can flow well, then he can be healthy. Every time he came to my clinic, he would joke. He said that 阎罗王(God of Hell) does not want him, that is why he is still in this earth. When I told him I would like to take some pictures of him to upload to my blog, he was just too willing. He also told me that his Western doctors also took pictures of him. He believes strongly in TCM medicine but he also respects his Western doctor. He has survived 18 years after his first cancer and after 7 times of operations.
He is also a kind man. Whenever he met people who suffer from cancer, he would show them the scars in his body and also advised them to be optimistic, telling them that they also have a good chance to overcome the cancer. He has also introduced many patients to see our TCM physicians
In 2004, I conducted a TCM talk in Bukit Batok East Community Centre. The topic of my TCM talk was “癌症的先兆与中医对癌症的治疗”. An audience who was present at the TCM talk came forward to speak to me and got a name card from me. Subsequently, he came to our TCM clinic to see me bringing along all his medical records. This man was 55 yrs then. He told me that in year 1999 he had colon cancer. It had then spread to his bladder. Two years later, it spread to his liver. Again another two years later, it spread to his lungs. Each time he went through an operation to remove his tumor, he had chemotherapy after the operation. Altogether, he went through six operations! He believes in Western medicine and he also believes in Traditional Chinese medicine. He told me that he intended to take TCM medicine from our TCM clinic to prevent cancer from recurring. He told me that he had seen another TCM Chinese physician before but his cancer still spread.
I prescribed TCM Herbal for him. He said he preferred the brew type (meaning the natural herbs which needs to brew in a pot for 1.5 hours. He said the brew type is the most natural, although it is more troublesome. He continued to take our TCM medicine for many years, sometimes he drank the brew type, sometimes he took the TCM granule powder type. In addition, every three months to four months, he would buy from our TCM clinic ”四大天王“ which consists of four well known traditional Chinese herbs which consist of :
1) wild ginseng 野山泡参;
2) cordyceps 冬虫夏草;
3)石斛;
4) pearl 珍珠粉 etc.
All these herbs are ground and mixed together. Then he would take them whenever he feels tired. This ”四大天王“ is very expensive, he said that his grandfather was very rich and had left some money for him, therefore he was able to afford and eat them.
He continue to come to our TCM clinic to take TCM brew medicine and granular medicine (the powder TCM medicine) and the Chinese wild ginseng mixture "四大天王". Sometimes, he may take a break of 2 to 3 months.

In 2010, he came to our TCM clinic to see me again and told me that he had thyroid cancer, but a very small one. I advised him to go for the operation to have it removed. He went for operation to have his left thyroid removed. To-date, he is still very healthy.

There was another case about a Nose Cancer patient
A 52 year-old man came with his wife to see me in 2002. He said he had nose cancer and had been operated to remove the tumour . He also had radiation on his neck area to kill the remaining malignant cells. He came because he felt weak and did not eat well. He told me that he had to eat soft food because he could not swallow well after the radiation. His saliva gland was damaged and he needed to drip lotion to lubricate his throat. His voice was coarse and pronunciation was not clear.
I prescribed him herbal medicine based on his condition. He was one of the many faithful patients who came almost every two weeks to consult me and collect medicine on a regular basis. He said he felt better, less tired and could eat better. Occasionally, he was down with flu and cough. However, his enunciation was still unclear and I had to pay more attention to make out what he was saying.
He came regularly for almost 11 years. He told me he was a tailor and decided to close his shop after he had nose cancer. His skill was so good that customers still looked for him to make their suits or dresses. He was good in both men's and women's clothings. He was able to work as a tailor from home.
Unfortunately, one day his wife told me he was very ill and was hospitalised. I went to the hospital to visit him. His wife said he was having persistent fever and they had to send him to the hospital. After some scan, they discovered that some food went into his windpipe (trachea) and into his lung and that caused the infection. I recalled that he always said that because of the past radiation, he could not swallow well and each time he ate he had to swallow slowly (as the flap of cartilage (epiglottis) in the throat did not function well and he had to make sure that food went into the oesophagus and not the windpipe.
A few days later, he went into coma and was in ICU. Unfortunately, he was not able to wake up and died a few days later.
