Can Chinese Physician TCM Cure Hives, Urticaria?
A patient of mine, age 35, had hives for 6 months. She complained of having hives almost everyday. In the morning, she may wake up with big patches of red, swollen, itchy rashes/hives appearing on her eyes, chin, forehead, chest, thigh etc.
She felt very frustrated all this time. She had seen her GP and was prescribed antihistamine and steroid. But the rashes/hives still come and go for the last 6 months.
After taking the medicine we prescribed for one month, she said her hives receded. The hives became much smaller. We told her that hives can be cured if she continues to refrain from taking too much spicy and "heaty" foods, especially the toxic foods such as prawn head, dried shrimps, belachan and seafood etc. This lady's condition was particularly severe. However, she too recovered from hives completely after taking one month medicine.
Another male patient, age 36, said that he has hives for the last 6 months. Every day he needed to take antihistamine 3 times a day. His whole body flared up with patches of rashes almost every day. Sometimes he woke up from his sleep because his scalp was very itchy. He found the hives very annoying as his face and lips also swelled.
He came to see to our clinic to see our TCM doctors and he was much better. Our TCM doctors are trained by Dr Ong Swee Ling.
