TCM Clinic Physician treat Vasculitis on Lower Legs

Vasculitis is inflammation of the blood vessels. There are different types of vasculitis. Sometimes, the blood vessels involved in lungs and kidneys. The common ones are blood vessels involved in leg arteries and veins. The blood vessels are comprised of arteries that pass oxygen-rich blood to the tissues of the body and veins that return oxygen-depleted blood from the tissues to the lungs for oxygen. Vasculitis is characterized by inflammation and damage in the walls of various blood vessels.

Vasculitis is an auto-immune disease where the body's immune system attacks blood vessels instead of defending them against infection. The actual cause of these vasculitis diseases is usually not known. However, immune system abnormality and inflammation of blood vessels are common features. Each form of vasculitis has its own characteristic pattern of symptoms, much of which depends on what particular organs are affected. If a blood vessel is inflamed, it can narrow or close off. This limits or prevents blood flow through the vessel. Rarely, the blood vessel will stretch and weaken, causing it to bulge and harden.

Here are some of the vasculitis cases that I have treated.  Many of them the blood vessels involved are in the legs.  These patients complained of discomfort, inflammation, heat, redness, swelling, harden lumps and water retention around the lower legs. Most of them have vasculitis on one side of their legs.

Many of them told me that they went to hospital to seek treatment and found that there were little improvements.  There were still pain and inflammation on their legs.  I treated them with acupuncture and herbal medication together with some massage.  After several treatments they were better. How long the treatments will take depends on the severity of the case. Clinically, TCM would appear to have an effective treatment for vasculitis in the legs. Here are some of the pictures:-
