Best TCM Physicians Treat Sinusitis (鼻窦炎), Allergic rhinitis(鼻敏感), Asthma, Breathing difficulties

Many young people have sinusitis.  They usually feel that their nose is stuffy, with a bit of running nose as well as sneezing in the morning.  Then they get better in the afternoon. Some of them have acute sinusitis and have very bad running nose and sneezing. If the the condition get worse, they may develop asthma and breathing difficulties.  Sometimes they may need to use nebulizer to ease their breathing difficulties.

Sinusitis is inflammation of the air cavities within the passages of the nose. Sinusitis can be caused by infection, but also can be caused by allergies and chemical or irritation of the sinuses.

Sinusitis always recurs over a long period of time and sometimes it continues for years.  Generally, except for rare instances, sinus infections are not contagious but it has recurrent tendency.

Most of the patients who come to me have already consulted western doctors on their sinusitis problems. Some of them told me that they do not wish to have ethmoidectomy or other surgery methods to remove the infected tissue/polyps. They would rather seek TCM methods to relief their problems.
I usually examine them with an instrument and find that they have redness around the nasal cavity, swelling of nasal polyps which block the opening of the sinuses.  I told them from the TCM point of view, sinusitis is due to the functionality of lung.  As the circulation of air and water in the lung is not smooth (气机不畅, 肺的通调水道不利), it leads to stagnation of air flow Qi”.  I explained to them, TCM herbs can be used to reduce inflammation, disperse stagnation, enhance circulation of air and water in the lung as well as improving the functionality of lung, but they have to take the medicine for 2 to 3 months to see the effect. For some acute sinusitis cases, I would recommend acupuncture treatment (which can be 5 to 10 sessions or more depending on the severity of sinusitis). Clinically, I observed the condition of these sinusitis patients improved and/or the occurrences reduced or disappeared. Our TCM treatment was to improve the lung of the patients, when their lung is strengthen and nourished (especially in the case of young kids), slowly, the sinusitis are likely or will gradually disappear.

We have treated many adults who had breathing difficulty, shortness of breath, hard to lay down to sleep due to coughing, sudden coldness, shiver (颤抖).  These patients were prescribed herbal medicine besides acupuncture, they were happy with the results after several treatments as their condition improved and they felt much better.
