Singapore TCM Doctor Treat Brain Tumor TCM Clinic

On 4th Sept 2016, an old man, age 87, came with his daughters to see me for his brain tumor. The daughters told me that their father had brain tumor, meningioma (脑膜瘤), which measures about 4.5 x 4.1x 6cm. The tumor was benign.

(A meningioma is a tumor that arises from a layer of tissue (the meninges) that covers the brain and spine. Meningiomas grow on the surface of the brain or spinal cord) and therefore push the brain away rather causing some pressure.... Meningioma tumors can become quite large)

The two daughters were very filial. They were very concerned as their father complained of severe headache every day and had no interest watching television or reading the newspapers. Everyday he would ask for panadol to relieve his pain. Doctor from the hospital recommended surgery which the family was hesitant.

The patient had hypertension and heart condition. Sometimes, he complained that his stomach was bloated. But he was always hungry and ate quite a lot. He liked to drink ice water every day. He did not sleep well as he urinated 3 to 4 times a night.

The daughters mentioned that they sent him to Tan Tock Seng Hospital as he had very severe headache. The doctor prescribed morphine for him. But the family was reluctant to let him take morphine because of its side effect.

In order to reduce his headache, we did acupuncture for him and told him to take our herbal medicine 3 times a day. At the same time, I instructed him to drink less ice water. One week later, his daughters came back and informed me that he did not complain of headache as often as before.

On the 3rd week, they said his pain level has reduced to 2/10. The patient continued to come every week for acupuncture and medicine. After one month, the daughter said that he now would watch television and read newspapers.

After 16th Oct, 2016, he did not complain of headache and stop taking panadol. He continued to come almost every week till today (about 9 months). During this period, he sometimes complained of flatulence, skin itchiness, knee pain, constipation or cough. In general, he seldom complained of headache. He said he still continue to take cold drinks and liked cold weather.

The family was happy with the outcome and told me that as long as he did not complain of headache, they were happy.

Singapore TCM Doctor Improved Liver Function AST and ALT

TCM Improved Liver Function (AST and ALT)

A lady, age 65 came to see me on 11^th Feb,2017. She wanted me to prescribe some herbal medicine to improve her liver function.

She said she was a hepatitis B carrier. She got her blood test on 9^th Feb 2017. The blood test showed that her AST was 49 (normal range is 10-30 U/L) and ALT was 63 (normal range is 10-36 U/L). This means that her liver function was not in the acceptable healthy range. She also mentioned that Western doctor did not give her any medication to take and asked her to come back for a review after three months. As was concerned that her liver may harden over time, she came to see me to improve her liver function.

During the consultation, she shared that her heart was beating a bit faster than usual and her hands and legs were often cold. Sometimes she felt that her left chest had sudden pulling pain. Her weight has gone down from 46 kg to 43 kg. She also mentioned that she had hypertension since two years ago. She asked for one month herbal medicine.

She came back on 11th March 2017 and said that her heart rate had normalized. She felt more clam and less anxious. She also reported that the pulling pain on her left chest had disappeared.

On 9th May,2017, she went back for her medical review and her blood test showed that her AST was 46 and ALT was 54, meaning that her liver function was improving. The doctor said that her liver was not worsening, therefore, did not give her any medication.

She came back to see me on 23 May 2017, she did not feel any discomfort and seemed to be more relax. She asked for another one month of herbal medication to maintain her health.
