TCM Physician Treatment for Hair Loss and Alopecia Areata (鬼剃头)

This patient came for hair treatment. She said that she had alopecia areata (鬼剃头) since she was a teenage. It happened on and off over the years and she had lost almost 30 % of her hair.

She had tried some other places for treatment of her hair but did not seem to improve her condition. She came to my clinic hoping for a cure on her hair condition. I told her I have treated similarly cases before, but it might take about one to two months to see some results.
  
TCM regards the cause of alopecia areata(鬼剃头) as lack of nutrients at the particular spots. Therefore most importantly, we prescribe Chinese herbal medicine to enhance vitality and nutrients to the hair.  We also used "梅花针" (mei hua zhen) to stimulate the poles around the alopecia areata (鬼剃头) area followed with hair growth lotion and massage on the scalp.

 After one course of treatment (10 sessions), they usually were satisfied with the result.

The length of treatment varies from person to person. It ranges from one to three months depending on the severity of the hair loss.
